Our story began at a CVS store, where we were surprised by how many prescription drugs were on the shelves. We had an idea: could we offer a natural alternative to enhance people's well-being? Boom! Deer Soul was born! With backgrounds in horticulture, we embarked on a journey to merge our expertise with the wisdom of herbalism. Barron dedicated themselves to mastering the art of herbalism, enriching our skill set and allowing us to seamlessly blend Eastern and Western herbal traditions into our products. Our goal is simple: to offer natural remedies that make you feel good inside and out, helping you live a healthier life.
Why We’re Called Deer Soul?
We want to care for your body, mind, and soul through natural wellness. The name began as Dear Soul—a heartfelt message to those we serve. We changed it to Deer, the gentle animal from the forest, to symbolize our deep connection with nature.

Inspired at a CVS aisle, we wondered: Could there be a natural alternative to everyday wellness? That question sparked the beginning of Deer Soul.
2023 05
We officially became Deer Soul LLC, turning our vision into a business focused on natural herbal teas and plant-based self-care.
2023 07
Created our first product prototypes, blending herbs in small batches and testing with friends and family.
2023 08
Launched our first full production run, introducing 7 signature herbal tea blends.
2023 09
Opened our online store and sold our very first pouch through Green Wisdom Herbal Marketplace.
2023 10
Debuted at our first farmers market at Farmakis Farms in San Juan Capistrano.

Welcomed into our first retail store, Open Market OC in San Clemente.

Expanded to San Diego Mission Valley Mall, our second retail location.

Secured our weekend farmers market schedule, now regularly serving communities in OC every Friday to Sunday.

Celebrated a major milestone: our first grocery store partnership with Irvine Ranch Market @ Marbella

Barron Chang
With a background in horticulture and agriculture, and herbalism training from Green Wisdom, Barron is passionate about bringing the healing power of plants into daily life. She leads product creation and design with intention and care. In her free time, she enjoys swimming, hiking, and reconnecting with nature, where her creativity and purpose truly come alive.
Root Keeper & Co-Founder
With a background in horticulture and an MBA from UC Davis, Mindy keeps Deer Soul rooted and thriving — managing sourcing, operations, and all the behind-the-scenes details that bring our products to life. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, hiking, discovering new food and music, playing the cello, and spending time with animals (especially alpacas!).

With a background in nutrition and certification as a licensed nutritionist in Taiwan, Tina brings a thoughtful wellness perspective to every post. She’s passionate about K-pop and Korean culture, loves creating engaging videos, and finds joy in drawing and visual storytelling. Tina leads our social media presence, sharing the heart of Deer Soul with creativity and care.
